The 2020 'Dirty Dozen' and 'Clean 15' lists

The Environment Working Group released its annual Shoppers Guide to Pesticides in Produce "Dirty Dozen" and "Clean 15" lists, with no changes in rankings or commodities on the "Dirty Dozen" list. No commodities were added to or dropped from the "Clean 15," but the rankings reshuffled somewhat.

Avocados, sweet corn and pineapple maintained their No. 1-3 spots on the "Clean 15" from 2019, while onions moved up to No. 4, papaya moved up to No. 5, and sweet peas dropped a couple of places to No. 6. Eggplants and asparagus stayed at No. 7 and No. 8. Cauliflower moved up to No. 9 in 2020, and cantaloupe moved up to No. 10. Broccoli moved up to No. 11, and mushrooms moved up to No. 12. Cabbage fell three places to No. 13, honeydew melon moved up to No. 14, and kiwifruit fell six places to No. 15.
