Blueberry groups hire in marketing-communications, financial roles

Two groups that represent the U.S. blueberry industry have hired a vice president of marketing and communications and financial controller, which are new positions.

The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council and North American Blueberry Council hired Jennifer Sparks in the marketing role and Adam Winland as financial controller.

Sparks was at the Society of American Florists for 21 years, 17 as vice president of marketing. At the blueberry groups, she will oversee all aspects of the marketing plan and lead implementation of “brand-driven internal and external communications across consumer, retailer, foodservice and industry relations,” according to a news release.

Winland has 14 years of financial management experience and will oversee the councils’ day-to-day accounting and provide strategic financial direction for the blueberry organizations, according to the release.
